Tutti Frutti Ananas

Banyuls-sur-Mer, Catalunya, France

Tutti Frutti Ananas is a collaboration based in Les 9 Caves (a collaborative cellar hosting the likes of Bruno Duchene and Rie & Hirofumi Shoji) in Banyuls-sur-Mer between Manuel Di Vecchi Staraz of Vinyer de la Ruca, Zé Tafé of La Caves de Nomades and Joachim Roque of Domaine Carterole – their aim is to make easy drinking wines, the type that they like to drink by the Mediterranean.

The fruit comes from organically farmed vineyards by all three of the gents planted across sand, schist and quartz soils – some very close to the Mediterranean and others up in the mountains behind Banyuls. The wines are made in concrete tanks and bottled young without additives. They are fresh, easy drinking and very moreish.

Under their own labels Manu, Zé and Joachim farm very old and low yielding bush vines that produce serious, powerful wines that benefit from age, in unbelievably small quantities. The Tutti Frutti range in comparison are wines of freshness and vibrancy that are made for everyday drinking.
