New Release Scintilla (2022 Harvest)

We're pleased to release a new selection of delicious, energetic wines from James Madden of Scintilla from the 2022 harvest.

Since moving to Adelaide Hills with his family and starting Scintilla in 2017, James Madden has developed an ever-growing reputation as a winemaker of consideration and precision. Prior to beginning his own label, Madden had years of experience in the industry working as a sommelier and on vintages in Australia and France. These experiences led him to a passion for staunchly minimal intervention wine: a passion put to practice in Scintilla.

Madden sources only organic/ biodynamic fruit, with no fining, filtering or sulphur used. The resulting wines are vivacious and clean with refinement apparent year on year. In step with this refinement is growth in the winery. Starting with 7 tonnes in 2017 he was up to 17 in 2019, with plans to cap production at 20/25 tonnes.

This fresh release of Scintilla wines showcases Madden's broad skill with an eclectic collection of precise wines from a punchy Pet Nat, to a moody skin-contact Sauvignon Blanc, and a refreshing Clarete. All pourable by the glass. Drink up.
